WoW Forever opens November 4 at 3:00 PM PST, or 23:00 UTC, with four launch rulesets and a required two-part name; your first sign-in also presents an experience preset. Choose these options before character creation, then review WoW Forever Gold before launch night begins.

Enhanced Is the Flexible Starting Preset

The preset choice controls your initial interface, visuals, and several convenience settings in WoW Forever. Classic uses standard-definition character models, hides quest points of interest and objective blobs, leaves one-bag and transmog off, keeps keyboard camera turning, and uses the classic layout. Enhanced enables high-definition models, quest guidance, one-bag, transmog, keyboard strafing, and a centered layout. Enhanced is the safer pick when you have no firm preference because every individual setting can be changed later through Game Menu, then Options. The preset screen appears only during your first sign-in.

1) Confirm your regional opening time, then decide whether Classic's presentation or Enhanced's convenience better fits your launch group.

2) Pick the preset before creating a character, remembering that later changes happen through the normal options menus.

3) Check each character's model and animation choice separately, since that visual setting does not affect abilities or progression.

Rulesets Define Groups and Names Stay Regional

The ruleset determines which player community you join, so make this choice with friends before anyone creates a character. Normal centers on exploration and monsters, with player combat optional. PvP leaves you nearly always exposed to attacks from the opposing faction. RP applies naming and conduct standards for role-play, while RP-PvP combines those standards with ongoing faction danger. A Hardcore option with lasting death consequences is planned after launch, not for November 4. Each character uses two name parts, and the combined name must be unique within your region.

● Choose Normal for flexible adventuring, while PvP suits groups that accept frequent enemy attacks during ordinary travel.

● Select RP or RP-PvP only when your naming, conduct, and role-play expectations match the ruleset's standards.

● Prepare several two-part names because a preferred first part can remain usable with another second part.

Reality check: A guild split between rulesets cannot raid together, so group agreement matters before leveling begins.

Starting Zone Choices Set Your Early Route

Your race and class decision changes the opening route, especially if you choose the new Skyborne. Skyborne characters begin on Zephras Isle through level 12; Horde-aligned Windshapers can become Shamans, while Alliance-aligned High-Order Skyborne can become Mages. Forever also adds pairings such as Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests, and Dwarf Shamans. More than 1,000 quests spread across levels 1 to 60, including Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, and Riverglades, but shared mid-level hubs may be crowded during the first week.

● Pick Skyborne for its distinct opening and class options, or use a traditional starting zone when your group needs earlier route alignment.

● Mark Riverglades as a likely meeting point because it adds over 150 quests through a traditionally thinner mid-level range.

● Set a level 60 schedule before December 9, when Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, and Onyxia's Lair open.

Lock In Your Launch Choices Early

Check your local November 4 start time, confirm the same ruleset with your guild, and prepare several two-part names before logging in. Then review your planned spending and buy WoW Forever Gold only after your launch priorities are clear and ready.
