Diablo 4 Horadric Items can make Talisman bonuses easier to activate, and War Plans Tactics gives you a way to favor the reward type you need. Jewelry is the key target: a matching Horadric ring or amulet adds one count to its named Talisman set, so one charm can activate a two-piece bonus. You can also review Diablo 4 Items then map your Talisman set plan before farming.

The system is being tested on the PC PTR from October 27 through November 3 for the next season. Its live release date has not been announced, so the numbers and item behavior described here belong to the test version and may change.

1 How Does Horadric Jewelry Change Talisman Bonuses

A Horadric ring or amulet raises the bonus count of the specific Talisman set named by its Horadric affix. The practical example is a two-piece effect: with the matching jewelry equipped, one charm from that set can count as two and activate the bonus.

This does not make every Talisman set active at once. The jewelry must name the set you want, and the charm still needs to be equipped. You should first identify the two-piece effect that supports your build, then search for jewelry tied to that set.

◆ A saved charm slot can be used to start another Talisman set or build a different charm combination.

◆ The jewelry effect depends on the named set, so a ring tied to one set cannot provide the same count for another set.

That makes jewelry the best starting point for a build that wants more than one set bonus. A setup that previously needed two charms for one effect may gain room for a second set after finding the correct ring or amulet.

2 What Do Horadric Armor and Weapons Require

Horadric armor and weapons do not use the jewelry rule. Their listed effects only activate when the named Talisman set already has an active two-piece bonus.

These effects can add skill ranks, increase damage, or improve defensive power. The dependency matters because an armor piece by itself may show a useful affix without giving you its benefit. You need the matching set condition active before the effect turns on.

That creates a natural pairing. Horadric jewelry reduces the number of charms needed for the set, while a matching armor or weapon piece adds another effect after the two-piece threshold is reached. If your build cannot activate that threshold, the armor or weapon should not be your first farming target.

PTR data lists 45 Horadric sets and 241 affix lines, including 29 skill-rank lines. The same test data places Horadric affixes from character level 25 onward, with a per-Legendary chance ranging from 1 percent to 15 percent. These figures are test values, not a promise for the live season.

3 How Can War Plans Tactics Favor Jewelry Drops

War Plans Tactics works in both Seasonal and Eternal play, and its Reward nodes let you favor broad item categories. Jewelry is one of those categories, alongside Armor, Weapons, and Talisman Items.

Put up to three points into Jewelry when rings and amulets are your priority. Three points raise the chance that War Plans offer jewelry rewards, giving you the most direct route toward Horadric jewelry through this system. Talisman Items has its own node, so you can shift some points there when you need charms after obtaining the right jewelry.

◆ Jewelry helps you target the item slot that changes the set count, while Talisman Items helps fill the charm slots that the build still needs.

◆ Activity nodes also accept up to three points, and at least one point in Helltides or Nightmare Dungeons opens a choice that can raise the odds of Greater Helltides or Escalation Dungeons.

Changing the Tactics tree or an individual Activity tree costs Marks of Wisdom, not gold. Completed War Plans provide these Marks, and the PTR cap is 20. That cap limits how many changes you can store, but it also makes several test setups possible without spending your regular gold supply.

4 What Is the Best PTR Test Order for Horadric Items

Use the PTR boost to check the complete interaction before spending time on a farming plan. The boost can provide level 70, Paragon 200, all waypoints, every Torment tier, maximum War Plans, three Marks of El'druin, 20 Marks of Wisdom, maximum seasonal boons, and seasonal items listed as Horadric Items.

1) Equip a Horadric ring or amulet that names a Talisman set.

2) Remove one charm from that set and check the Talisman panel for the active two-piece bonus.

3) Equip matching Horadric armor or a weapon and confirm that its effect activates only while the set bonus remains active.

4) Check the item tooltip and character sheet to see how the Horadric effect is displayed.

If the jewelry does not increase the set count by one, or the armor effect activates without the required bonus, record the result through the in-game feedback tool while the PTR is open. This check also prevents a common planning error: assuming that every Horadric item grants its effect independently.

5 How Should You Plan Your Farming Priority

Start with the Talisman set that gives your build its most useful two-piece effect. Write down the charm slots it would free and choose the second set that could use those slots. Then assign three War Plans points to Jewelry until the matching ring or amulet appears.

After the jewelry is secured, move points toward Talisman Items if the second set needs more charms. Armor and weapon rewards become a better target after the two-piece condition is reliable, since those pieces cannot replace the set requirement.

For extra loadout options while you compare rings, amulets, and matching gear, you can browse Diablo 4 Items for sale and keep your PTR testing focused on the set combinations that your build can actually activate.
